As a developing world professional, it is sad to acknowledge that the delays and near-hardline positions taken by the negotiators cost us the one thing we seem to be short of: TIME. It is difficult to understand and/or justify the gaps in implementation, especially when the issues are not contestable... e.g. climate change is fact, extreme events are fact, SIS and countries in the South are most vulnerable and least culpable, and that mitigation and adaptation cost money.

The positions taken by the developed world, especially, exacerbates an already precarious situation, and it behoves us, indigenous people who depend absolutely on Nature's providence and stability, to seek a middle ground (or else, a bridge). But since we have little or no say, either in Copenhagen, Bonn or in yet to be held Cancun, we can only pray, and keep our fingers crossed as we wait the next flood, or famine.
