About

Climatico is an independent network of researchers and climate change experts that analyze and report on the latest developments in climate change policy around the world. With much information about these issues being complex, inaccessible, biased, or misrepresentative, Climatico’s mission is to serve as an educational platform through which national and international policies are made digestible to the global community. Climatico aims, therefore, to take debate and dialogue from the UN and deliver it to the world’s citizens in an accessible and independent manner so that they can more readily participate in an informed climate dialogue. This is achieved through Climatico’s website, which provides an easy to understand background to the most important issues, as well as through regular articles, conference attendance, and reports published throughout the year. This enables Climatico to deliver high-quality, independent comparative analysis of climate change policy to political decision makers, civil society and the public.

Founded in 2008 at Oxford and later incorporated in Seattle in 2010, Climatico serves as an international organization, representing voices across continents. Many of the Climatico team members were previously members of the G8 Research Group Oxford/LSE, an affiliate of the G8 Research Group based at the University of Toronto. Climatico recognizes the importance of its roots and maintains focal points in Oxford and London, in addition to contacts in the United States and Mexico.

Climatico’s analysis is meant to be an unbiased and non-political assessment of climate policy in the hopes of bringing about a greater understanding of the issues at hand through education and meaningful conversation. Through its coverage, Climatico assesses government policies addressing mitigation and adaptation to climate change, including the underlying rationale and drivers of action and non-action. In addition, Climatico focuses on the most important international issues under discussion at high-level climate policy forums and venues (G8, UNFCCC, G-20, etc.) by monitoring policy trends and developments regarding such topics as adaptation, capacity building, technology transfer, CDM, JI, emissions trading, finance, and emissions targets.

Climatico is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and relies on public and private donations in order to provide you with high-quality independent analysis.
